Digital Nomad Visa
Spain has become one of the most attractive destinations for remote workers thanks to the new international teleworking residency program, popularly known as the Digital Nomad Visa. This authorization allows professionals from non-European Union countries to legally reside in Spain while working remotely for foreign companies. Designed to attract global talent, this visa combines flexibility, quality of life, and highly competitive tax advantages.
Benefits
1. Possibility to live and work in Spain
Although the visa allows remote work for a foreign company, you can also work for Spanish companies as long as you do not exceed 20% of your income from them.
2. Tax Advantages
It allows holders to pay taxes as non-residents, similar to the Beckham Law. This translates into a reduced tax rate of 24% on income up to €600,000, in addition to exemption from wealth tax. This favorable tax regime is maintained for 5 years, at the end of which the applicant is transferred to the general tax regime.
3. Family Reunification
The visa allows the applicant to bring immediate family members, facilitating family reunification during their stay in Spain.
4. Access to Other Residencies and Nationalities
Years of residence with the digital nomad visa count toward the application for long-term residence and Spanish nationality, after 5 years of continuous residence.
